GENIE—A Magic Carpet Ride: The Stumpjumper 15's biggest innovation is GENIE. This patent-pending air spring technology delivers three things every trail rider wants: coil-like feel and control, better bottom-out resistance than a standard air shock, and a tunable platform that lets you control your bike however you want.

Now we'll explain how GENIE works: GENIE uses the linear spring curve of a coil spring up to the "bump zone" for improved control, then switches to the progressive spring curve of an air spring towards the end of the travel to prevent bottoming out. Did we hit a bump?: With GINIE, which absorbs bumps 16.3% better than a standard air spring, the Stumpjumper 15 feels like it has more travel than its specs suggest. For example, when absorbing a 1080N impact force from a bump, both the Enduro (170mm rear travel) and the Stumpjumper 15 (145mm travel) use the same 101mm of travel.

Extraordinary Traction: Extensive real-world testing has proven that a Stumpjumper 15 with GENIE provides 57% more traction than a standard air shock. This is because GENIE technology provides the same compliant motion as a coil spring, allowing the rear wheel to follow the road longer than an air shock.

Say goodbye to bottom-out: Hard bottom-outs are reduced by 39% compared to a standard air spring. In big impact situations, the GENIE's stiffer spring rate at the end of the travel (30%) helps riders, providing more support and reducing the frequency and impact of bottom-outs.
